1965 Fender Strat, EXC Condition, Great Sounding Lefty Vintage Strat!

This is a Left Handed 1965 Fender® Sunburst Strat® in EXC condition. All original except for replaced nut, currently has 5-way switch(period correct NOS 3-way in the case with original box), bridge pickup has been rewound but is original, trem cover is missing. This is a vintage Strat I sold back in 2011 and was able to repurchase recently. The guitar is in the same condition as when I sold it. All pics, both internal and external, were taken recently. This Strat was originally inspected, examined, and set-up by Scott Freilich of Top Shelf Music in 2011. It was also recently reinspected and set-up by Scott on March 29, 2018.

This is one of about a half dozen 1965 Strats I’ve seen from mid-65 that came with the F plate(typical for that period); this one is F125920.

Date Codes:

Neck stamp: 2JUN65 B
PUP dates: 6-11-65
Pot dates: 137 6514
Neck Plate: F125920

Neck PUP=5.76K, middle PUP=5.73K, Bridge PUP=7.54K. Nice blend three-color Sunburst with strong unfaded color, no wear through the wood except small area of arm wear on the side/bottom, DARK Brazilian rosewood fingerboard, original frets have been leveled and the guitar now plays great. Back of neck is worn nicely: feels smooth and fast, just the way you want it! Has unfilled hole on lower horn from righty strap knob(about 1/2 of all the Strats I’ve ever owned, new or vintage, have been flipped over to righty at one time), pickguard has fair amount of wear.

The guitar sounds and plays great. The gray bottom Pickup Strats from this period are known to be exceptional sounding vintage Strats – this is one of those Strats!

Includes new G&G black Tolex hardshell case.

Was $14,995 Now $12,500

1961 Fender Strat

Magnificent example of a Lefty 1961 Fender Strat: 100% original with OHSC and hangtags. EXC 8.5/10 condition. 1961 was a great year for Strats; no worry about the red-fade Sunburst finish that plagued 1960 Strats. This Strat has the beautiful blend tri-color Burst that is so much more desirable than the target/bulls-eye Burst pattern that started appearing in 1962. Completely untouched guitar with no changes/mods/broken solder joints etc.

1965 Lefty Fender Candy Apple Red Strat, Pre-CBS Features

Left Handed L-Series Fender Strat in an original Candy Apple Red finish from early 1965, with the desirable
pre-CBS features including Green Guard and Clay Dots. The guitar is 100% original and a very
rare vintage lefty Strat in a Custom Color(Leo Fender’s favorite color was in fact Candy Apple Red).
The guitar is in very clean condition; I’d call it a Near Mint, 9/10 condition.

LEFTY 1958 Fender Strat, 100% Original with OHSC, Amazing Strat!

I’ve been thinking of the appropriate adjective to describe this 1958 Strat. I haven’t been able to come up with just one word, so I’ll just call it Pure Dynamite! This is simply one of the best Strats I’ve ever had the privilege of playing, including my favorite 1961 Slab Strat. I didn’t think that I would find one that rivaled the 61, but this guitar is the one!

It has an unbelievable neck PUP(my favorite PUP on a Strat). The Tone is mind blowing and mind altering all in one: clearly-defined notes on the wound strings, deep mids, and musical highs without the ice-pick effect, all in a hugely resonating 3-D experience that prevents you from putting this one down. You know the Otis Rush line, I Can’t Quit You Baby, I think I’m gonna put you down for a little while; he’s obviously not talking about this guitar, because you Can’t Put it Down….Not Even For A Little While!
