1979 Fender Strat, Bargain Priced with Some Issues

This is a lefty Strat from 1979 which has a lot of potential, and is priced accordingly. The main concern is the finish: During the late 70s, Fender was asked by the EPA to modify its spraying installation and to find a less polluting finishing method. Fender decided to try water-based finishes, which could be electrostatically sprayed on bodies. The new set-up was first used in 1979, but it soon turned into a disaster as finishes were prone to cracking, bubbling, and falling off after only a couple of weeks or months! Needless to say, this unfortunate development resulted in numerous claims from dealers and customers, after which Fender decided to return to polyester finishes.

This particular guitar is an example of that water-based finish, as seen in the pics. It would be a good candidate to have the finish removed down to the wood and oversprayed, or to be refinished in a color of your choice. The neck is actually in very nice shape, so only the body needs attention.

1974 Fender Strat, Rare Hard Tail, Cesar Rosas Documented, Near Mint with OHSC!

This is a 1974 Fender Strat, rare hard tail, previously owned by Cesar Rosas from Los Lobos.
Includes personal letter from Cesar Rosas, along with a plethora of Los Lobos backstage passes and concert tickets.

The guitar is in Near Mint condition, with very little wear on the 1st fret and the neck looks new, front and back.
Some typical nicks on the body for this age, but overall this guitar is in very fine condition!

All pickups read consistently in resistance, with Bridge PUP/5.47K, Middle PUP/5.32K, and Neck PUP/5.45K.

The weight is ideal at 7 ¼ lbs. This was the last year for the staggered poles, with Strats getting flat poles
The following year in 1975.

This guitar has been inspected and set-up by Scott Freilich of Top Shelf Music; it plays and sounds great, and needs nothing.

This is a really nice collectable Strat with Provenance from the great Cesar Rosas of Los Lobos,
and hard tail Strats from this era are almost impossible to find. Check out all the pics!

1971 Fender Tele Bass, 100% Original, Investment Grade!

This is a 1971 Fender Tele Bass, factory Left Handed, 100% Original with OHSC. It’s almost impossible to find an early 68-71 Tele Bass with 4-Bolt Neck & Single Coil Pickup in Lefty!

What makes this Lefty Tele Bass even more remarkable, is that it comes with a 1968 Neck! Fender started production on the Tele Bass in mid-1968, which is when they made a batch of lefty necks for this model. When it was time to assemble this bass in 1971, they reached in the parts bin and found out they still had a Lefty Neck in inventory! You can make out “23SEP68C” on the neck stamp!!
