1968 Gibson ES-335TDC, 100% Original with OHSC, EXC Condition!

This is a true survivor, unmolested 100% original 1968 left handed Gibson ES-335TD in Cherry Red, with OHSC. It is also a one-owner guitar!

This guitar has been thoroughly inspected and expertly set-up by Scott Freilich of Top Shelf Music, a Gibson authorized repair center since 1979. Scott placed the year as 1968 after noting it has a one-piece neck. This would also be consistent with George Gruhn’s philosophy of dating a guitar based on neck date and/or specs. It also has no volute, no Made in U.S.A. stamp, and a no-logo Gibson case with the Marigold interior which was used by Gibson through mid-1969.

This guitar came from the factory with a Bigsby-there is no evidence that there was ever any other tailpiece on this guitar, just crazy! Man, I love this guitar – it’s got that whole vintage Cherry ES-3×5 vibe in spades, i.e. Eric Clapton, Freddie King, Otis Rush etc.

Nice, vibrant & unfaded medium cherry finish, has moderate amount of wear to the body, but all the great vintage guitars do. One thing you notice immediately with this guitar is it is loud, clear, and resonant unplugged-you know it’s a winner right off the bat!
Lots of fret wear remaining, fretboard is nice and dark, binding is in great shape.

Great tone on this one, and with a very musical and well articulated bottom end! Plays well up and down the neck; this guitar needs nothing except a new owner. And it has a nice weight too: approximately 8.5 lbs.
