1965 Fender Jazz Bass, 100% Original with OHSC, Pre-CBS!

This is a Left Handed 1965 Fender Jazz Bass, 100% Original/Unmolested Condition, with pre-CBS features: tortoise shell pickguard/celluloid green backing, along with clay dots. The finish is a strong and vibrant 3-color sunburst with very minimal checking. The back has a few nicks and some cord/strap rash, typical of vintage Fenders.

The frets show very minimal wear, probably due to the use of flatwounds throughout the years. The control plate and both covers have a nice shine. The tortoise pickguard is beautiful and crack-free. The fretboard is a dark Brazilian rosewood with an attractive grain. The case is the original factory Left Handed No Logo black tolex case in just as nice a condition as the bass. Also includes both original bridge and PUP covers, Fender polish cloth, and cord. This is a collector/investment grade instrument!

This bass has been inspected and set-up by Scott Freilich of Top Shelf Music. There is no better person on the planet to check out a vintage Fender bass:
1. Scott ran a factory authorized Fender repair center for over 30 years,
2. Has personally owned over 200 vintage Fender Jazz and Precision Basses, and
3. Scott is a master bass player himself, and knows a great sounding bass when he hears one.

  • Overall, this is a pristine example of a factory left handed pre-CBS Fender Jazz Bass, and a very worthy addition to your vintage Fender collection. Please examine the pics, and I am sure you will agree!
