This is a guitar I sold back in 2011, and it’s in the same EXC, original condition. I’ve only had 2 left handed Golden Era(pre-1965) ES-330s in over 30 years, the other being a 1960. And I’ve only seen one other lefty 1960-64 ES-330, and it was the dreaded single pickup model. So from my experience, the left handed Golden Era ES-330s are much rarer than the ES-335s.
This guitar retains the beautiful and vibrant Cherry Red finish, all nickel hardware, 1 11/16 nut width, tune-o-matic bridge, reflector cap knobs, original black case with Marigold interior. Nice and light weight: around 6 1/2 lbs.
There is a blemish under the bass side neck pickup, and a few nicks by the input jack. There is some worming and wear on the back, but nothing through the wood. The nickel hardware has a wonderfully aged patina. Overall, the guitar is in EXC condition.
The guitar plays and sounds great, and the pickups pack a punch: Neck – 7.98K, Bridge – 8.43K. The neck is on the slimmer side, is in great shape, and still retains the original nibs. And you can easily bend notes up and down the neck!
And, of course, it’s a Cherry Red ES from 1964, the same year and color of Slow Hand’s iconic ES-335.
A very rare and desirable Left Handed Golden Era Gibson electric in the classic Cherry Red finish!
