This is a very rare Left Handed model and not the typical Murphy Lab guitar. I have sold 6 Lefty Murphy Lab guitars, but this is the only Tom Murphy Painted one I’ve seen! Technically not a new guitar, but it’s really As New/Unplayed with OHSC, COA, and all factory paperwork.

This was a Made-To-Measure, Custom Order guitar, a 1959 reissue and ordered with a slim-taper neck: .81/1st fret, .92 at the 12th fret. The weight is less than 9 lbs: 8.80 lbs. It’s a VOS finish in Murphy Burst, manufactured 10-14-21. Plays and sounds amazing!

Tom Murphy’s special relationship with Gibson goes back to the 1990s. Some of the most desirable Gibson Historic Les Pauls are from the mid-90s – the ones which Tom Murphy painted. The figured wood/flame really stands out with these Murphy painted guitars, as it does with this one!
