For Sale: 1963/1964 Fender Tele, Pre-CBS, EXC!

This is a factory Left Handed 1963/64 Fender Tele, Blonde finish, Brazilian Rosewood Fingerboard, 100% Original, comes with an early 1970s Fender case.

Pre-CBS lefty Teles with rosewood boards are hard to find – much rarer than the Strats! It has the Spaghetti logo, clay dots, single-ply white guard, double-line Kluson tuners, moderate wear on the body with some buckle wear through the wood on the back.

It plays really well and you can actually bend the strings easily on this one. It has some mild fret wear, mainly on the first 3 frets. This Tele has the vintage deep-rhythm wiring, but the 3-way switch does hold the in-between neck and bridge PUP setting well. The Tele has a great weight at 7 lbs, 3 oz.

Comes with an early 70s Fender case(first case Fender issued after the 67-72 tail logo case).

1964 Gibson ES-345TDC, Cherry Red, Extremely Rare Lefty!

This is a Left Handed 1964 Gibson ES-345TDC. I have only seen 4 other Left Handed Golden Era(pre-1965) ES-345s: 2 from 1960(I currently own one), 1961, and 1962(which I previously owned). I have not seen any from 1964 – this is probably the only left handed 1964 ES-345.

The original owner had his name inlayed into the original fretboard, which was replaced with an Ebony board at that time. Recently, the guitar was shipped to Lay’s Guitar Shop and the fretboard was replaced with a historically-correct Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard with Double Parallelogram inlays(receipt from Lay’s included in the case). The fingerboard binding and nut were also replaced at the same time. There are side dot markers on both sides, which is historically correct for a vintage left handed Gibson. Lay’s also did a refret and complete setup – the guitar feels and plays great. Dan Shinn does great work at Lay’s!

1964 Gibson ES-330TDC, EXC 100% Original Condition with OHSC!

This is a guitar I sold back in 2011, and it’s in the same EXC, original condition. I’ve only had 2 left handed Golden Era(pre-1965) ES-330s in over 30 years, the other being a 1960. And I’ve only seen one other lefty 1960-64 ES-330, and it was the dreaded single pickup model. So from my experience, the left handed Golden Era ES-330s are much rarer than the ES-335s.

This guitar retains the beautiful and vibrant Cherry Red finish, all nickel hardware, 1 11/16 nut width, tune-o-matic bridge, reflector cap knobs, original black case with Marigold interior. Nice and light weight: around 6 1/2 lbs.
